Textured Portraits

This project explores painting in layers and exposing underlying color. A base layer of acrylic paint was applied and fully dried before subsequent layers were added then peeled or rubbed away--this was done while some of those additional layers were still wet, and other areas dried and cured. The portrait aspect of the project was included as an afterthought--the exploration is more in texture and color than in form. All paintings done on 1/4 inch wood panels.
